April 2013 Employee of the Month and STAR Award

For many years, Kalix has selected and recognized exceptional support staff and job coaches as Employee of the Month.  Similarly, a supervisor or other employee is recognized each quarter through selection for the STAR Award. All recipients are expected to act according to the Agency mission:  Privacy, Dignity, and Purpose for all People.  The Wellness Committee bases their recommendations for the award on the Kalix Values:  Dependability, Adaptability, Professionalism and Teamwork (aDAPT).

Corey Boucher joined Kalix in December 2008, and is currently working as a Program Director at MSLA.  Corey didn’t plan on a long career at Kalix but seeing the difference our presence makes in people’s lives on a daily basis proves to be very rewarding for Corey.  His favorite thing about working at Kalix is getting the chance to interact daily with people we support.

Corey was nominated for the STAR Award because of his ability to ADAPT when needed.  He never complains, displays TEAMWORK, asks questions and does the work that is needed to meet state certification requirements.  Thanks Corey for all that you do!

Ashley Hagner was nominated twice for April Employee of the Month.  Ashley was nominated for always coming to work ready to help where needed.  She always remains positive and doesn’t hesitate to make someone smile.  Ashley displayed teamwork when she went above and beyond by helping clean up a flooded apartment as well as her willingness to contribute when needed.

Ashley has only been with the Agency a few months however, in that short amount of time she has made a big impact.   Hagner enjoys working with people with disabilities and one of her favorite things about working at Kalix is the smile that those she works with put on her face.  Thanks Ashley and welcome to the Kalix Family!
